Toshiba is back with its new conception, the Toshiba PDR-M71 which is an exciting camera and setting new standards in the market! It was unveiled in the US on the 28/8/01. The Toshiba PDR-M71 will be sold at a retail price of 700in North America, no bad for all this technology. This nice little piece of technology measures 107 x 47 x 71 mm and has for weight 340 g. The PDR-M71 delivers a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536. It also supports a lower resolution of 1024 x 768, 640 x 480. The ratio of the image (w/h) on the Toshiba PDR-M71 is set at 4:3, for a total of 3.1 mega pixels. The sensor of the PDR-M71 is a CCD of dimensions 1/1.8 " with a RGB color filter.

Toshiba included a digital zoom on the PDR-M71 and included an internal flash which is always essential in a camera . The normal focus range is 80 cm. The minimum shutter speed (min. exposition to light) on the PDR-M71 is 15 seconds while the maximum shutter speed is 1/1000 seconds. The movie mode is supported in this model being a very useful function. The Toshiba PDR-M71 has an internal memory of 8 mb extendable by using SmartMedia. The LCD screen available on the PDR-M71 is measuring 1.5 ".
